I-80 WB Truck Lane & Wildlife Improvements
Last updated Jan. 2019
Wildlife overpass now complete
Crews have finished work on the new wildlife overpass - the first in Utah to span six lanes of interstate, designed and built specifically for wildlife - and cameras have been installed for UDOT and the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR) to monitor the crossing.

Help us keep it wild
Animals do not want us on their crossings any more than we want them on ours.
Human and domestic animal use of the overpass, and the surrounding area, may result in fewer crossings.
Please avoid the area and help us #KeepItWild
Truck Lane update
The new climbing lane is now open. Crews will return in spring 2019 for a final paving pass and to place permanent striping.

Noise Barrier update
Noise panel installation is now complete. Crews will continue painting the wall and seeding the berm over the next two weeks.
OVERVIEW
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will add a truck lane on westbound I-80 from Jeremy Ranch to Parleys Summit, complete wildlife fencing in both directions within the project limits and build a wildlife crossing near Parleys Summit. UDOT will also augment the fencing and new wildlife overpass by installing cattle guard at the Parleys Summit interchange. Additionally, crews will build a noise barrier near Jeremy Ranch to mitigate freeway noise for nearby residents.

Wildlife crossing rendering
In coordination with this project, another crew will repave both directions of I-80 from Lamb's Canyon to west of Kimball Junction through spring 2019.
